Driven to the brink of madness by the merciless lashes of his vile Orc masters, a cave troll lumbered out, a colossus of dull wit but with the strength of a legion. His skin was nearly impervious to iron-forged weapons, a testament to the merciless nature of the dark places of the world he dwelt in. In his colossal three-fingered grip he clutched a mighty stone hammer, a fearsome instrument of destruction that he wielded with blind fury.

With each thunderous blow, friend and foe alike were struck down, crushed by the beast's indiscriminate wrath as it charged into the chaotic fray, seeking its prey with a relentless fervor that echoed the darkness in its masters' hearts.
.The Cave Troll was the first creature designed for the iconic film trilogy, and sculptor Jamie Beswarick of Weta Workshop played a key role in its overall design. At the time, the look and feel of the inhabitants of Middle-earth were still being defined, with artists encouraged to imagine not only their appearance but also their habits and histories. This approach aimed to develop a level of authenticity that went beyond the typical fantasy genre.
As a result, these hulking giants were equipped with thick hides, three-fingered hands, powerful jaws and burrowing claws. It was these defining characteristics that Jamie Beswarick was once again tasked with recreating, this time in miniature. By capturing the raw strength and ferocity of such a creature and infusing every detail with indomitable wrath and fury, our incredible team managed to capture the very essence of this behemoth.
Perfectly sized for easy display and ideal for any desk or bookshelf, this miniature Cave Troll statue would make an excellent addition to your Weta Workshop collection.
